Lit Teen Social is a safe social app for teens and a membership club for a youth community that wants more than endless scrolling. The goal is simple: help young people make friends, find communities around shared interests, and discover activities worth showing up for in real life—with published safety rules parents can review before saying yes.
Lit Teen Social is built around shared interests and communities, not random follower counts. Whether someone is into skating, gaming, music, art, sports, or local hangouts, the product is designed to help young people find others with a similar vibe and start conversations that can turn into real friendships.
Matching and connection tools are age-separated: under-18 users are matched with under-18 users, and adults are matched with adults. Messaging is connections-only, so members control who can message them by controlling who they connect with.
Once connected, members can share Stories, join community conversations, and keep chats focused on people they already chose to add. That design is intentional: Lit Teen Social is meant to support friendship-building, not open inboxes from strangers.
Beyond chatting, Lit Teen Social helps the youth community find concerts, game nights, skate sessions, community meetups, and other real-world plans. Features like Link Ups are designed for group hangouts with existing connections—not one-on-one stranger meetups arranged in private.
Link Ups require at least three participants, stay visible only to approved connections, and keep exact location hidden until someone actively joins. Before creating or joining, users see an in-app reminder to meet in safe public places, tell a parent or trusted adult, and leave if something feels wrong.
The app also surfaces local deals and a youth marketplace for buying, selling, or trading gear with other members. Those features are meant to support real-life plans and local discovery, not keep people stuck in an endless feed.
Accounts are age-checked through Kids Web Services (KWS). Youth accounts need verifiable parental or guardian consent where required, and adults must complete age verification as well. Creating an account with a false birthdate or trying to bypass verification is a serious violation.
Content and behavior are covered by Community Rules with automated filtering, AI review for nuanced risks, and human review for escalated cases. Users can report posts, Stories, messages, profiles, and Link Ups in-app, and serious abuse can lead to removal or referral to law enforcement where required.
Ads that appear in the product are reviewed for age-appropriateness before they go live. The product’s published rules also ban bullying, harassment, hate, sexual exploitation, and other harmful conduct across public and private spaces in the app.
For young members, Lit Teen Social is a place to post, chat, join communities, redeem local deals, and turn online connections into plans with people nearby. Profile visibility is an active choice during signup—private or public—and can be changed later in the app.
For parents and guardians, the Safety & Compliance, Privacy Policy, Terms, and Community Rules pages explain age checks, parental permission, data practices, meetup precautions, and how to contact support. Lit Teen Social does not sell personal data, and minor data is not used for behavioral advertising profiles.
Parents should also know what the product currently does and does not show. For example, Link Ups are designed for teen autonomy with existing connections, and parents do not currently have visibility into a teen’s planned Link Ups. That is disclosed in the legal documents so consent decisions can be informed.
